Housing

A leopard frog should be housed in a 20-gallon aquarium with a tight-fitting lid. Unlike many frog species, leopard frogs do not need a water area. They do, however, require a high level of humidity. Therefore, the substrate (ground covering) you choose for the tank must be one that promotes humidity and not mold growth. Potting soil and peat are both good choices. A leopard frog tank should also contain a large water bowl. Generally, a leopard frog will be happy at room temperature, which should be between 60° and 80°F.
